Inviting Team Members

Quick version: Go to Settings > Team, click Invite Team Member, enter their email, pick a role (Admin or Technician), and send.

How to send an invite

  1. Go to Settings > Team from the sidebar.
  2. Click the Invite Team Member button in the top-right corner.
  3. Choose how to invite them -- Email (recommended) or Phone (coming soon).
  4. Enter their email address.
  5. Pick a role:
    • Technician -- they can see and manage their assigned jobs.
    • Admin -- they get full access to everything, including settings and financials.
  6. If you picked Technician, you can toggle "Can view pricing, invoices & payments" on or off. This controls whether they see dollar amounts.
  7. Click Send Invitation.

The person will get an email with a link to join your team. If they already have a Fieldkit account, they just click the link and they are in. If they are new to Fieldkit, they will create an account first, then join your team automatically.

What the invited person does

  1. They open the invitation email.
  2. They click the Join Team link.
  3. If they do not have a Fieldkit account, they sign up (it takes about a minute).
  4. Once logged in, they are added to your team with the role you chose.

Sharing your invite code

Every team also has an invite code shown on the Team page. You can copy this code and share it with someone directly -- for example, by text message. They can use it to join your team without waiting for an email.

Managing pending invites

Pending invitations appear in the Pending Invitations section at the bottom of the Team page. From there you can:

  • See who was invited and when.
  • See which role they were assigned.
  • Cancel an invitation if you change your mind.

Invitations expire automatically after a set time. If someone misses theirs, just send a new one.

Tips

  • You can invite as many people as you want -- Fieldkit has unlimited users on all plans.
  • If the invite email does not arrive, check their spam folder. You can also cancel the invite and resend it.
  • Only Admins can send invitations. Technicians cannot invite other people.
