Estimate Packages
Quick version: An estimate package bundles your estimate with a cover page and attachments into one professional PDF that you send to your customer.
What is an estimate package?
An estimate package is the complete document your customer receives. Instead of sending a bare-bones price list, you can include a branded cover page and supporting documents like warranties, spec sheets, or project photos.
Think of it like putting your estimate in a professional folder before handing it to a homeowner.
How to build a package
The package builder opens automatically when you click Send to Customer on an estimate.
- Cover Page -- Check the box to include one. Choose a style:
- Modern -- Clean, minimal design
- Traditional -- Classic professional look
- Bold -- High-impact, attention-grabbing
- Estimate -- This is always included. You can't remove it.
- Attachments -- Click Add Document to include files you've uploaded to your account. Drag them to set the order they appear.
- Email Message -- Add an optional personal note that appears in the email.
Managing attachments
- Click Add Document to pick from your uploaded files.
- Drag the grip handle to reorder attachments.
- Click the X to remove an attachment.
- The page count shown is an estimate of the total PDF length.
Previewing your package
Click Preview PDF at the bottom of the package builder to see exactly what your customer will receive. The PDF opens in a new tab.
Always preview before sending, especially the first time you use a new cover template.
When packages are used
Estimate packages are used for regular estimates. Change orders skip the package builder and send directly, since they're typically shorter and don't need the extra presentation.
Tips
- Upload your most-used attachments once and reuse them on every estimate. Warranty documents and insurance certificates are good candidates.
- The cover page pulls your business name and logo automatically. Make sure your logo is uploaded in Settings.
- Keep it short. Homeowners appreciate a clean, focused package. Three to five pages total is a good target.
