Connecting Your Ad Accounts

Quick version: Go to Settings, click "Connect" next to Google Ads, Facebook Ads, or Google Local Service Ads, and sign in with your existing account. Fieldkit handles the rest.

Note: This feature is available on the Pro plan ($198/mo).

Before You Start

You'll need an existing account on the platform you want to connect. If you don't have one yet:

  • Google Ads -- Create a free account at ads.google.com
  • Facebook/Meta Ads -- You need a Facebook Business page and an ad account at business.facebook.com
  • Google Local Service Ads -- Apply at ads.google.com/local-services-ads (requires license verification, insurance, and a background check)

Connecting Google Ads

  1. Go to Settings from the left sidebar
  2. Find the Google Ads section
  3. Click Connect Google Ads
  4. Sign in with the Google account that owns your Google Ads account
  5. Click Allow to give Fieldkit permission to manage your campaigns
  6. You'll be redirected back to Fieldkit

After connecting, Fieldkit will sync your existing campaign data. This usually takes a few minutes.

Connecting Facebook & Instagram (Meta) Ads

  1. Go to Settings from the left sidebar
  2. Find the Meta Ads section
  3. Click Connect Meta Ads
  4. Sign in with your Facebook account
  5. Select the ad account you want to use
  6. Click Allow to give Fieldkit permission
  7. You'll be redirected back to Fieldkit

Your Meta connection stays active for 60 days, then Fieldkit will prompt you to reconnect. This is a Facebook security requirement.

Connecting Google Local Service Ads

Google Local Service Ads (LSA) work differently from regular Google Ads. You need to pass Google's verification process to earn the "Google Guaranteed" badge.

  1. Go to Settings from the left sidebar
  2. Find the Local Service Ads section
  3. Click Connect Local Service Ads
  4. Sign in with your Google account
  5. Select your Local Service Ads account
  6. Fieldkit will check your verification status

Verification Status

After connecting, Fieldkit shows your verification status:

  • Verified -- You're good to go. Your profile is live and you can receive leads.
  • Pending -- Google is reviewing your documents. This can take 2-4 weeks.
  • Needs Action -- Google needs more information from you. Check your email for details.

What Happens After Connecting

Once connected, Fieldkit can:

  • Create and manage ad campaigns on your behalf
  • Pull in performance data (clicks, impressions, spend)
  • Track calls from your campaigns
  • Show ROI metrics on your dashboard

Your ad spend goes directly to Google or Facebook. Fieldkit does not charge any markup on your ad spend.

Disconnecting an Account

If you need to disconnect an ad account:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Find the ad platform section
  3. Click Disconnect

Disconnecting does not delete your campaigns on the ad platform. It just removes Fieldkit's access.

Troubleshooting

"Connection failed" error

  • Make sure you're signing in with the account that owns your ad account, not a personal Google or Facebook account
  • Check that pop-ups are not blocked in your browser
  • Try again in a different browser

"No ad accounts found"

  • For Google Ads: Make sure you have at least one Google Ads account set up at ads.google.com
  • For Meta: Make sure you have an ad account in Facebook Business Manager

Meta connection expired

  • Facebook requires you to reconnect every 60 days. Go to Settings and click Reconnect when prompted.

GLSA shows "Needs Action"

  • Check your email for messages from Google about missing documents (license, insurance, or background check)
